Look, there are a few things that I don’t think ever live up to expectations. The first would be rooftop bars and the second would be hotel bars. From my experience, both of them typically suck. They are all the same and cost a boatload for a standard domestic beer. I have come across rare occurrences where this is not true and this exception applies to Jimmy’s Crow Nest. When I was on vacation I stumbled upon this bar. It was directly across from my hotel and I noticed people having a good time on a rooftop. Naturally, I went to go check it out and boy was I surprised. To get to the bar you enter a parking garage and take an elevator to the tenth floor. From there the doors open and you see one of the most gorgeous rooftop bars that you will ever see. This one was just simply different from all the other rooftops I’ve been to. It had character and a dive bar feel which I appreciated.

When you are at a bar in Florida the most important thing in my opinion is the view. This bar has a 270 degree view of the water and is one of the prettiest views I’ve seen at a bar. I was simply sitting by a table, facing the water, having a damn good time. To add to the experience at Jimmy’s, the drinks were incredible. The frozen drink menu was killer and they were made so well. On top of this, the beer was priced pretty damn fairly.

When going to Florida, you would expect a ton of tourists, but Jimmy’s felt like it had a decent mix of locals. Could I be 100% wrong about this? Absolutely, but that is what it felt like, at least. To top off the experience and put a wrap onto this review, I got a shot handed to me for what seemed like a reason. I then looked around and saw everyone had a shot and it was because of the sunset that was approaching. A free shot during a sunset? Sign me up, this was incredible and something I’ve not come across before. I think more bars should have a free shot gimmick. Goes a long way for patrons and keeps them coming back.

Decor: Minimal decor, nature was the decor, which is how it should be.

Price: Fair prices, cheaper than other bars that I visited in the area.

Service: A+ service. The place was slammed, yet got drinks quickly.

Atmosphere: Everyone was having a good time. The type of atmosphere you want to be in.

High Life Bottle?: I did not see any.

Bonus Points: None.
